The HighSierraFishing.com website was conceived in 1997 as a source of fishing information on the Eastern Sierra's, focusing mainly on the northern Mono County area.

It has grown from first reporting the conditions on the West Walker River to now reporting on lakes, rivers and streams from Bridgeport north.

See our Area Lakes page which lists over 65 lakes in the area.

Our reports are received from a multitude of sources, many including anglers as yourself. Please feel free to submit your fishing reports (and photos) to info@highsierrafishing.com. Please browse our website and enjoy all that we offer.

If anyone has suggestions on links that would be a great addition to this site, please pass them on. If you have photos or stories please pass them on. Email me at info@highsierrafishing.com

The fishing just doesn't get better than this! Please practice good catch and release techniques. This will help preserve our fishing! Use of barb-less hooks even when bait fishing really does cut down on the mortality rate. Thanks!

West Walker River - Good!

Waters on this favorite fishing spot are getting a bit low as usual for this time of year. There are plenty of spots ready for the angler.. you just may have to hunt for the spot. Fishing seems to be best in early morning and later afternoon.

An Alpers drop went as planned last week just in time for the Labor Day weekend. These Alpers were in the 2# range, perfect size for the current water conditions.

Little Walker River -  Very Good

12" rainbows have been reported in this great little river. Waters are also low here but the holes can be so much fun!

East Walker River - Fair
For current flow information click here.

Fishing is getting tough on this river. Flows have dropped and the weeds are starting to appear. Waters are getting green and warm. Best to leave this alone for awhile until things cool down.

Topaz Lake - Poor

This time of year the fishing is rather poor as the waters warms up and there are a number of water draft on the lake. If you want to try this lake, the southwest shore would be the best suggestion at this time.

Visit the local community website at www.topazlake.com and make your reservations.

Fair - low and warm is the word from this lake.

Kirman (Karmen)   Open.

No reports at this time.

Please check with the California fishing regulations for more information and regulations on fishing this lake.

Heenan Lake Check DFG website for open dates.

Please check with the California fishing regulations for more information and regulations on fishing this lake.

Roosevelt/Lane  - Fair

No reports for the last two weeks.

Contact Leavitt Meadows Pack Station for information on setting up a backcountry trip! Mention that High Sierra Fishing Report sent you.

Fremont -  Fair

Water is dropping so the best is on a tube and go deep!

Make certain to go for the deep spots between the rocks. The east side just north of the trail into Fremont is doing well. Taking a float tube and fly ride can be really a blast at this time of year.

Contact Leavitt Meadows Pack Station for information on setting up a backcountry trip! Mention that High Sierra Fishing Report sent you.

Twin Lakes -  Good

The latest news is encouraging. Streamers down about 10-15 feet during mid day seems to be working for most.
